I don't know how to help people.

fuck I feel shallow.

Sometimes you do though, whether you know it or not. You help them by being who you are. I know that sounds cliche, but it's true. You're a calm person online, and funny, and sometimes just having that around does more for someone else than you can see outside.

You helped me once, more than you realise, simply by letting me hang around.

*fluffles* you're welcome. :>

I think you do good at helping people - you do your best, which is the best that can be expected of anybody. I definitely don't think you're shallow. Truly shallow people can't write like you do; they aren't aware enough of the currents underneath the actions people take to write believably, they don't know how to make connections that aren't obvious. Your stories are graceful, subtle (at times - "YOU STABBED ME YOU BASTARD!" hee), properly grounded and connected. Just reading your stories has touched me and made a difference.

You do good, Batty, you really do. I'm very happy to have you as a friend. :)

Thanks *hugs*

But what I meant was, my friends have problems and I don't even know what to say. So I say nothing, and then I feel like crap.

I don't know. Must be a bloke thing.

Sometimes my friends don't know what to say. Sometimes *I* don't know what to say. I thinkit's a human thing. Sometimes there isn't really anything you can do except just be there and be who you are. And your stories do lend others a bit of insight into who you are:).

Sometimes people just need a nonjudgemental ear sand advice, sometimes not. Thing is, a lot of things you have to work through yourself (IMO). If we all could solve each others problems all the time we'd talk ourselves to death and then go have a beer, perhaps.

And if we didn't have to solve our own problems, we'd never figure out what the bloody equation was that started the whole mess to begin with;).

there are many different ways of helping people.

and you do help, believe me
