The Ashes (a cricket post)
Oh, England! What are you doing?

How do you lose a test match by 405 runs?

  • 1
Only time I've seen 405 runs was at a marathon :D

I was going to say Glastonbury... but they've improved the food this year.

Apparently the answer is; very easily...

On The Last Leg last week, Adam Hills said "Here's the difference between Australian fans and English fans. Half way through the first test, and Aussie friend texted me and said "It's looking a bit grim." Then an English friend texted me and said he'd just bet on Australia to win the series."

If England keep playing like they did in the second test, we'll take the Ashes 4-1

Happy birthday, Batty, and may your year be successful in all respects — most certainly including the upcoming appointment results!

Thank you!

And I do not expect them to find anything; the lump is reducing in size by the day.

Sounds good.

I've just discovered that another online friend is a big-time bat enthusiast. You might look at Shayron Alvarado on FaceBook if you're interested. Shayron is on the board of a bat conservation group and heavily involved in bat rescues.

Best wishes, sir.

From the Witt's dictionary: "Cricket [krik'ett] A game Australians hate, but play very well, and which the English love, but can't play at all."

And not forgetting that lovely line out of the Goon Show:
"As a matter of fact this bat was used in the last test by [The Captain of the English team]. You can see it's quite unmarked..."

Happy Birthday Batty! May your hot rod get a button labeled Ludicrous Mode to celebrate :)

Thanks Mako!

I'm going to install a Ludicrous Mode in the Lexus.

I remember when Batty was discussing a button to add that broadcast the sound of Ludicrous Mode. Years ago, and it got ... mixed reactions, as I recall. They thought the idea sounded good, no doubt.
