Pretty! I occasionally consider getting into Kerbal, but then I think, do I need another timesuck...

... yes you do. It's Kerbals.

Ever since that big new update it won't run at all on my machine. Just crashes on startup. I has a sad.

Is it the machine, or do you have add-ons? None of the pre-1.0 add-ons work; they've all had to be recompiled for the new version or they cause crashes.

The machine hasn't changed, and I don't have any add-ons. I did try a few out with the older version a while ago, but they didn't seem to work very well with my (antique, less-than-shiny) machine; the 1.0 version was a fresh install into a new directory. I sent crashlogs to the devs, got an automated reply and have no assistance from them since then. :-(

Made an especially ill-prepared trip to the Mun because in all honesty I wasn't expecting to get there. For real! If I'd known I would have equipped the rocket with more science thingys.

I've made two genuine attempts since then and blew them both the same way; absent-mindely pressing the shift key to try and move around the map (as you would in construction mode).

Remember: hit F5 before you start doing something to quick-save, and then hold F9 to reload the quick-save when Things Go Wrong.

I've actually found problems when I restore from a save. Manoeuvers no longer provide burn times or advise on the ETA to the next manoeuver.

Q: Something I haven't found covered in Scott Mannely's tutorials. If I set another stellar body (Eg: the Mun) as a target, how do I then reset Kerbin as the target? For some reason it doesn't highlight when I mouse over it.

After you select the target ("Mun") re-click on that and "unset target" Kerbin is the default while you are within the SOI (sphere of influence.)

Thanks! At first I raised an eyebrow, but then that made more sense when I realised that this would allow you to reset to Kerbal without having to locate it. Cheers!
