Ely Cathedral - a selection of photos. There are more on Flickr and all photos are at original sizes.

HDR(ish) image created using under-exposed and an over-exposed images

The west door. Aaron fails to burst into flames as he enters. Which is nice.

The Nave with its painted ceiling.

One of the painted ceiling panels.

Stained glass. More stained glass on Flickr

Sunlight through stained glass

The Octagon. Ely does not have a square tower like other cathedrals.

Civil War damage in the Lady Chapel. The Puritans smashed almost all the stained glass and used the statues of the saints as target practice.

Residual Paint. The entire cathedral and all the statues used to be painted like this. What we see now is just the "brickwork and undercoat."

And old house in Ely.
