I'm just going to put out this PSA:

Livejournal Scrapbook is going away and will be replaced by the mysterious "Photo Album". Your 10GB of Paid Member space is now 2GB. If you care, there is an explanation in Russian on the Russian news page. There's also a user-submitted translation.

+ You will no longer have access to your Scrapbook once this goes live.
+ Your images will redirect to Photo Album, but the URL will be different.
+ Friends-only and custom security settings will default to private and have to be changed back manually.
+ Unable to tell what will happen to any photos you have that put you over the 2GB limit.
+ Back up your Scrapbook just in case.
+ If you want your photos transferred over now instead of waiting, let them know here.

From what I understand, paid users *always* had only 2GB. The 10GB has always been a paid addon you could get on top of the paid membership, sort of like extra user icons.

Also, the Scrapbook was a nightmare to use, to the point that I used it only sparingly. So I can't say I'm too worked up about this. :)

I am not at the frothing rantiness stage most people are at, but a little news on the change would have been nice.

99% of my photos are on Flickr, anyway. I used the scrapbook for ... scraps.

Yeah, it's become quite clear that they are now focused almost entirely on the Russian audience, and inform the English-speaking users only when they remember...

Wait, we had a scrapbook on this site? =0.o=

Arrrrgh. There goes my backlog of reposting private-on-flickr things locked to the lj filter I wanted them on. At least I'm not actually losing any of the files.

By now they've put up an FAQ

Storage levels will stay the same, but: no tags, no support for putting images into multiple galleries (it'll default to the first gallery), no videos. They are breaking and destroying quite a bit of work of their users.

My images are hosted at photobucket. Got a nasty surprise last time I logged on - change of the terms of use. OK, skim over that small pri.... waitaminutenotsofast! If you do not opt-out they are allowed to sell your e-mail address and other personally identifiable data (they do not an IP as such!?!?!?!) to third party advertisers. Not Cool!
