Brewed to commemorate the Battle Of Sole Bay. Down with the Dutch, I say!
Pours a very dark, clear red-brown. The tan head is large and foamy, and fades away slowly.
First sip: Very malty and sweet caramels, with a nice hops bitterness all combining into a really yummy beer. Mouth-feel is creamy with a mild carbonation tingle.
This is a yummy beer. It is dark and sweet and malty and bitter all at once. And it gets better as it warms I can see myself spending a long summer afternoon in an old pub in East Anglia, sipping this and pondering.
Just pondering.
