Pours a slightly cloudy pale yellow. The head is large and bubbly and fades away slowly. Lots of carbonation in the beer.
First sip: Sweet, mildly malty, mildly bitter, very alcoholic. Leaves a mildly bitter, dry after-taste. Medium bodied with a dry after-taste.
This is a very strong beer. A few would have me wearing the wobbly boots; a six-pack would lay me out for the night. The malt and hops should make this a really nice beer but they are buried by the alcohol and phenols. This is definitely a beer to sip with a meal. On its own, it's a little hard to drink.
I'm undecided about this beer but I don't think it's a yummy beer. I want to like it; it's nice but it's too strong in alcohol -- and I never thought I'd say that.
