Around The World In 80 Beers Episode 55: Young's Special London Ale

Another fine brew from the wilds of Bedforshire.

Young's Special London Ale

Pours a dark amber, with a medium, creamy head that fades slowly and clings to the glass. Very fine cabonation bubbles in the glass.

First sip: A lot of caramel/toffee and toasted malt up front, with citrus mixing with the hops to leave a mild bitter aftertaste. Mouth feel with quite full, with a lot of tingly carbonation.

London Ale is a yummy bitter. The taste is quite strong but it's highly drinkable. Once again, the beer tastes better as it warms a little.

I can see myself drinking this with a pile of smoked meats and some strong cheeses.
