Around The World in 80 Beers episode 31: Stiegl Bier

Stiegl Bier - The label is very... Utilitarian

Stiegl Pilsner

Pours a clear pale gold, small head that vanishes fast. A small amount of carbonation.

First sip: nice! Mild malt, medium hops, and a lingering crisp bitterness. Nice, medium mouth-feel with a little fizz.

A very drinkable pilsner. The hops become more noticeable as the beer warms a little. A good beery beer for Summer. I think I'll add it to my list of Pub Session Beers next time I'm in Salzburg. So, drinking Zlatopramen and Kozel in Prague, Stiegl in Salzburg... My next trip to Europe will become a pub crawl.
