Sunday, and it's raining. A day in the motel didn't appeal to me so I plugged "Gold Coast Breweries" into google to see what happened. Three popped up.

One in is Nerang. It's owned by Carlton and boasts being one of the largest in the country.

Pass.

One is in Burlieh Heads just down the road, but they only open 10am to 4pm week days. If they didn't want me to go, all they had to do was say so.

No.3 is the Mt Tamborine Brewery. It's about 50km away. I had nothing better to do, so I did it. I arrived in time for lunch

This was lunch:
Lunch at Mt Tamborine

Beer batter fish and chips, garlic bread, and Cockatoo Dark Larger. mmmmm.

The brewery complex contains a Restaurant, a Pub, and a cheese Factory. So after stuffing my face, I bought a six-pack sampler and a block of cheddar.

Evenings at the motel won't be so boring.

Mmm. Cheese and beer. There's a new cheese shop a few blocks from my flat. Decent prices, and a nice, if small selection.

OMG...that looks amazing! i miss Australian Fish and Chips!!!! *sob*

...now I want fish and chips!

Mmmm... I was just there at the same brewery last February, with cyan_blue. I liked the Black Cockatoo the best, and bought some cheese which we then enjoyed on the long plane ride back to California a couple of days later. The treetop rainforest walk nearby is also fun, by the way...

I'll have to save the treetop walk for later. I'm here to work and time-off is limited. I did pick up a six-pack to try, though. My evening entertainment.
