I still can't write about the job in Muswellbrook for security reasons, so have some photos of an impressive Jacobean house in Essex. Which would not allow photos of the interior for security reasons.

Auley End House is huge, and is the remaining 1/3rd of the original palace build in the mid 1600s.

Stables, bridge, and ornamental stream, as laid out by Capability Brown.

Aaron photgraphing the house. Behind him is the view you see from the front rooms. The hedge across the middle of the field hides the B1383. In the far distance is the Mausoleum.

Lovely estate! Gives a whole new definition to the phrase "Lawn mowing" though, wow :)

Mako

The mower was one of those horizontal-shaft barrel-blade units, mounted on a tractor. It was 20 feet wide.

Brown certainly lived up to his first name!

Security reasons? They're claiming that now?

Usually, it's just because they want you to buy the guidebook and/or postcards... (Or, more charitably, because they don't want you standing around taking photos and getting in the way when it's crowded.)

I think the security is more along the lines of casing the joint, Woburn Abbey style.
