After Hatfield House, we headed to Beaconsfield to wander around Bekonscot Model Village - the first model village ever built.

This village was featured on Midsomer Murders, where the victim was left surrounded by the little towns people.

Panorama. The smoke is from a perpetually burning cottage.

Stop! Police! ... has that ever actually worked?

There is a Gauge 1 railway running around the village. It has 10 scale miles of track.

I remember going to a model village, (I think it was in Bourton-on-the-water.) the last time I went to Bristol with my parents. Good Memories!

The model village at Burton-On-The-Water is of Burton-On-The-Water, which has a tiny model of Burton-On-The-Water in the same place as the real Burton-On-The-Water has a model.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! SO TINY! ALL MY WANTS! ALL OF THEM! JUST TAKE THEM! I WANT TO LIVE IN A TENT OUTSIDE AND SPEND THE REST OF MY DAYS PLAYING WITH THE TINY VILLAGE! WITH THE TINY PONIES!

That's very cool. How do they do the water - dark-tinted glass, or is it actually water?

Actual water, with an under-surface track that tows the boats around.
